Course details
IELTS or 'International English Language Testing System' is designed for students who wish to attend a course in tertiary education in Britain,Australia,New Zealand and some institutions in Singapore. IELTS is conducted by the British Counsil. This is a full time course especially designed for both local and foreign students. The main aim of this course is to develop and practise the language and skills needed to perform well in the IELTS examination. It includes work on the essential skills of English - reading writing , listening and speaking which are tested in the examination. It gives practice in researching and interpreting such materials through the skills. It also develops the study skills.
Module Synopsis
Listening:
This module guides students' to enhance their listening techniques by answering a variety of question types including multiple choice, short-answer questions, sentence completion, notes form/table/summary/flow-chart completion, labeling a diagram/plan/map, classification and matching.
Academic Reading:
This module aims to improve student reading, analytical and logical reasoning skills through a variety of question types including multiple choice, short-answer questions, sentence completion, notes/form/table/summary/flow-chart completion, labeling a diagram/plan/map, classification, matching, choosing suitable paragraph headings, identification of writer's views/claims and identification of information, all based on passages.
Academic Writing:
At the end of the module, students' acquire data analyzing and comprehension skills and will be able to write on the topic given. They also learn to organize, present, compare data, describe stages of a process/object/event and explain information.
Speaking
This module focuses on the conversational capabilities of a student and helps them to communicate effectively in English. It takes into account fluency, coherence, lexical resource, grammatical usage, accuracy and pronunciation.

Minimum Age: 15 years old
Academic Level: Sec 2 or its equivilant
Language Proficiency: N/A
Assessment and Awards
- Students who wish to take the IELTS test may register with British Council at their own accord.
- There will be 5 monthly test and 1 final examination at the end of the course.
- Students who have successfully completed and passed the examination will be awarded with Certificate of Attendance from Bradford-Rex College of Hospitality and Management
