Course details
This Food Information Training Programme is aimed at the catering, hospitality, childcare, residential and community care settings.
The training programme will enable learners assist the food business comply with the Food Information Regulation EU 1169/2011 and S.I. No. 489 of 2014 with regard to Allergen Control Requirements, Calorie Counts on Menus.
The training includes Refresher HACCP Food Safety and Hygiene Training
Objectives
- Recognise the key food elements of the Food Information Regulation and how it affects the Food Safety Management System
- Recognise Allergen Foods and the symptoms of Food Allergies
- Implement control measures for Food Allergens to comply with the Food Information Regulations
- Implement methods for the display of Allergen Information to comply with the Regulations
- Recognise the key nutritional information on pre-packed foods
- Use nutritional information to calculate calories on menus
- Understand the importance of Food Hygiene and Safety
- Demonstrate and maintain high standards of Personal Hygiene
- Understand the importance of refraining from unhygienic practices
- Maintain clean work areas, adhere to safety signs and systems
- Identify the key elements in a HACCP Food Safety Management System
