This course is designed to give candidates the necessary skills, knowledge and competencies to carry out Portable Appliance Testing in accordance with legislation.

All personnel who are required to carry out in-company PAT Testing.

- Legislation Governing PAT testing and IEE Code of Practice
- Health and Safety
- An introduction to PAT Testing theory
- Visual inspection of portable appliances
- Determining Class I and Class II portable electrical appliances
- Testing Class I appliances, Testing Class II appliances, Testing an IEC lead and Testing an extension lead
- Understanding fuse rating PASS / FAIL
- Test labelling
- Record keeping including portable appliance maintenance
- Plug wiring and general information about how electricity works
