A special purpose award for Health Care Support Programme,at level 6 (30 ECTS credits.
The programme aims to develop an individual who is able to use their knowledge and skills so as to provide appropriate and safe health care support in a variety of health care situations and contexts.
The objectives of the programme are to provide opportunities for the student to:
- Acquire and integrate knowledge, skills and attitudes on health care support needs.
- Develop and demonstrate educational skills that will inform and prepare the student for lifelong learning:
- Develop and demonstrate a high standard of behaviour in health care settings. This is the proposed course outline, however, prior to commencement of the programme, it will be discussed with the funding agency and modifications can be made if necessary and in line with college academic regulations.
The student will undertake 4 modules as part of the programme:
- Fundamentals of Care 1
- Fundamentals of Care 2
- Care of the Older Adult
- Placement

Skillnets is an enterprise-led support body whose mission is to enhance the skills of people in employment in Irish industry to support competitiveness and employability.
