- Ensure supervisors and managers can determine actual and potential severity of incidents.
- Provide opportunity to participate in investigation of a simulated incident.
- Provide opportunity to use investigation techniques to identify incident causation.
- Create ability to identify differences between immediate and under-laying causes.
- Provide knowledge and understanding to develop recommendations to prevent recurrence of an incident
