Material handlers, supervisors or personnel involved in warehouse forklift operations.

OBJECTIVE

Participants will understand the safety regulations governing forklift warehousing operations and be able to apply critical housekeeping and method handling skills to reduce accidents and material loss. The ability to spot hazards and perform forklift operations safely in warehouse environments will be applied during practical circuit training.

COVERAGE

• Understand the Workplace Safety and Health Act
• Comply with the Workplace Safety & Health (Risk Management) Regulations
• Apply the CP 101 for Safe Use of Counterbalance Forklifts
• Identifying correct handling equipment in the warehouse
• Risk assessment and hazards spotting in forklift operations
• Housekeeping and accident prevention, in particular, how to organise storage areas to create safe operating environment
• Specialised forklift circuit training to draw out key learning points

Applicants must be qualified forklift operators, i.e. have a WSQ Operate Forklift SOA or equivalent.
