The aim of this course is to make managers aware of their health & safety responsibilities as outilined in Section 80 of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course the learners will be able to:-

• Recognise their responsibilities with regard to health and safety in the workplace.
• Understand the importance of communication between managers & employees.
• Appreciate the importance of having an up-to-date Safety Statement & Risk Assessments.
• Complete an accident investigation & report.

Course Programme:

• Legislation: Safety Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.
• Any other health & safety legislation relating to your business.
• Managing health & safety in the workplace.
• Accident reporting and investigation.
• Consultation with other staff members.

Training Methods:

• Classroom based power-point presentation.
• There will also be course handouts on accident investigation & communicaiton exercises.

• Front Line Manager, Supervisors & Team Leaders.
