Module 3:

Module 5:
- Interpersonal and Communication skills for tourism and travel professionals.
- Fundamentals of interpersonal communication
- Effective verbal communication- concept of message, pitch, pace clarity, accent etc.
- Non-verbal communication- Body language-posture, gesture facial expressions etc.
- Essential soft skills- attitude, confidence, assertiveness, time management,
- Importance of personal presentation-appearance, dressing, and grooming.
- Concept of emotional intelligence and application.
- Need and application of cross cultural sensitivity and intelligence in tourism and hospitality industry

Objectives:
- Understand and learn the general nature of tourism and hospitality industry.
- Understand and learn the various functional roles in the tourism and hospitality industry
- Acquire competencies related to the general functions and standard procedures in tourism and hospitality industry.
- Acquire customer service and interpersonal communication skills with relevance to tourism and hospitality industry
- The Training will be delivered in line with the latest adult learning principles.
- The training program is highly interactive in nature with training delivered with a combination of lectures, Prezi-presentations, practical examples, activities, , mock sessions, video presentations, discussions, energizers, Q&A and re-cap sessions etc.
- Trainees will be provided with courseware which includes, study material, handouts, and activity/assignment sheets
Ongoing assessment during the training program through submission of coursework and participation in classroom
Written test at the end of course.
Coursework (40% weightage Maximum 40 marks)
Participation in activities (20% weightage maximum 20 marks)
Final written examination (40% weightage maximum 40 marks)
Total: 100 marks
Pass criteria:
Minimum 40 marks with at least 32 marks from coursework and written examination together and
- 8 marks from participation in activities.
- 60 Marks and above- pass in first class
- 80 Marks and above- pass with distinction.
