This course will help the participant to gain knowledge on workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations which are very important in the chemical industry. The participant will obtain the fundamental knowledge in identifying hazards and assessing risks while complying with WSH procedures at their workplace. On completion of this module, the participant will gain the knowledge and application skills to apply workplace safety and health procedures and practices to ensure safety of oneself and others at work.

Course Outline

Identify Responsiblities under Wish Act

• Responsibilities of a general worker stipulated by the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act
• Types of personal protective equipment
• Importance of safety signs and their purposes
• Types of safety signs and instructions
• Types of safety devices and emergency equipment
• Workplace housekeeping procedures

Identifying Hazards at the Workplace

• Types of hazards at workplace
• Types of personal protective equipment
• Interpret types of safety signs and instructions
• Types of unsafe working conditions and work practices
• Reporting procedures for hazards at workplace
• Reporting procedures for unsafe working conditions and work practices

Comply with Safe Work Practices

• The importance of caring the personal protective equipment
• Interpret safety signs and instructions
• Use of safety devices and emergency equipment
• Types of risk control measures at workplace
• Types of emergencies at workplace

Requirements

Candiates must be able to:

• Understand and speak English
• Demonstrate maths proficiency
• Successfully complete an assessment test conducted by CPTC

Will I recieve a certificate of completion

A WSQ Statement of Attainment will be issued to each participant on successful completion of the course
