About University of Strathclyde

Strathclyde Business School (SBS) has a long and proud history of being an innovative business school - and part of a leading technological university - with 'useful learning' at its heart. SBS was named Business School of the Year in the Times Higher Education 2016 Awards in recognition of the Business School’s innovative and entrepreneurial attitude and its overall ‘outstanding’ performance.

Strathclyde is a triple accredited business school: one of only 77 in the world, holding accreditation from the international bodies, AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS. In addition to triple accreditation. It was also Europe’s first university faculty to be awarded a license to operate an MBA programme in the UAE.

The school’s flagship MBA programme has been available outside the UK since 1988, with thousands of MBA course participants now graduated and many more currently studying at its eight international centres. The Strathclyde MBA has many study routes, but a 'one MBA' approach. The executive MBA at the international centres is exactly the same programme as the full time MBA, and the academics who deliver the core elements of the programme in the UAE also deliver the MBA in Glasgow. Our Executive MBA is ranked in the top 10 in UK, 41st in world (Financial Times, Executive MBA, October 2016).

The MBA Program
The Strathclyde MBA has been developed and fine-tuned since 1966 and can be studied in the UK or via its eight International Centres in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Oman, Switzerland, Greece, Kualar Lumpur and Singapore.

Designed for ambitious, talented and well-qualified individuals with solid business experience, the programme is based on collaborative learning where work experience, knowledge, understanding and applicable skills are shared, worked with and reflected on.

At the Abu Dhabi and Dubai centres, the programme format is especially designed for busy executives who need to combine career and family commitments with the demands of MBA studies. The programme is delivered on a part-time, face-to-face taught basis with academics flying in from Glasgow for intensive seminars that take place over weekends.

Students have the flexibility of attending classes at either UAE campus, and the option to attend seminars and electives at any of the other international centres. Electives can also be taken at the summer school in Glasgow.

The flexibility of the part-time approach enables participants to graduate within two years. However, study may be spread over a longer period if necessary, to a maximum of six years.

The MBA programme is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.

Academic strengths
The Business School’s subject departments and specialist units collaborate to provide a dynamic, fully rounded and varied MBA programme. Particular academic strengths include the areas of strategic management and entreprenurial leadership. The School places particular importance on strategic management at the level of developing strategy in any organisation, big or small, departmental, or divisional, and the School’s Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship is one of the largest university-based centres of entrepreneurship in the UK and is home to a team of recognised entrepreneurial experts.
