Purchasing and Procurement

Purchasers, buyers or procurers are responsible for sourcing materials for a business, often raw materials but sometimes products also. They may also purchase IT systems, advertising space, media etc etc. They will build relationships, negotiate on price and have a vast understanding of their market. This is a key business function and as such there are a number of professional qualifications available to support those working in the field. Such qualifications cover purchasing and the supply chain, planning, procurement, negotiating and business ethics.
