A Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) Certification is designed for professionals who want to attain the skills needed to successfully implement quality purchasing and supply chain practices.
A CPP course will generally teach the candidate about the role of the purchasing department within the company, guidelines for efficiency, effectiveness and appropriate ethical conduct of purchasing and supply chain, how to negotiate with suppliers, and decide when to buy or lease based on key purchasing factors, as well as maintaining and sticking to a purchasing budget.
A CPP course lasts 5 days covering the various sub-topics. A candidate would then have to pass an exam of multiple choice questions relating to the topics to gain the certification.
