Course Overview
ICE’s English language courses are tailor made based on a detailed Participants Needs Analysis, Learning Style Analysis and Current Knowledge Assessment which is then aligned to internationally recognized regulations like CEFR, TOEFL, IELTS and ICAO (for Aviation English) while incorporating the latest learning technologies.
The ICE English Language learning experience begins with a needs analysis followed by a placement test (written and oral). The results of these tools are used to determine the level of English proficiency and thereby place the participant at the appropriate level. During classroom instruction, the participant will be provided with a workbook, topic-related hand-outs, and a guided discussion lesson plan, as well as detailed instruction using multimedia, practical activities and face-to-face assignments.
Each course provides sufficient learning hours per level in line with various regulations and examinations including CEFR, TOEFL, IELTS and the ICAO regulations (for Aviation English). The focused skills include but are NOT limited to:
- Reading
- Listening
- Speaking
- Grammar and Pronunciation
- Writing
ICE will also be conducting mock Cambridge tests (KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CFE and CPE) at the end of the completion of the equivalent levels. The FINAL Cambridge exams and certification is optional and an additional add-on-value should the learner require.
ICE’s policy is to confine instruction to smaller class sizes, thus maximizing productivity. This also ensures that each participant is given the opportunity to contribute to the learning which in turn develops a sense of accountability, increasing retention of knowledge.
Activities are innovatively designed to bring to the fore, the desired outcome ensuring optimum utilization of time and keeping the participants interested. ICE’s unique resources allow students to pitch their findings against internationally benchmarked models of excellence and thereafter to appreciate corrective measures.
