OVERVIEW
The programme will enable operatives to comply with legislation and best practice in relation to animal welfare and in safe and appropriate animal handling.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The aim of this training programme is to equip Drovers working in Livestock Marts and Assembly Centres with the skills and knowledge which will enable them to carry out their jobs to the highest international standards of best practice in the handling of livestock. Particular emphasis will be placed on legislation, animal welfare, and health and safety.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This training programme has been designed by ICOS to facilitate the training of Livestock Handling Operatives and Drovers working in Livestock Marts and Assembly Centres.
LEARNING APPROACH
This programme is tutor lead with a number of group exercises and discussion workshops, supported by video tutorials.
Successful candidates will be awarded an endorsed award through the Institute of Leadership & Management.
