Classes in general English are held three times a week for (8 weeks ) in the morning, afternoons and evenings on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. Each course follows a course book and covers spoken and written skills in English. Emphasis is placed on the development of communicative skills and conversation. Students may register on any day of the week and are given an assessment test to determine their level of English.

The Polyglot Language Institute offers year-round courses in modern languages, secretarial skills and computer skills, as well as a quality translation service in four languages. The institute opened in 1969 close to its present prime position overlooking the beautiful creek. Since those early years, it has acquired a wealth of experience in the kind of courses favoured in the United Arab Emirates, both by national and expatriate students, and also by corporate clients requiring in-service training for their staff
