Course details
The course provides informal caregivers with a grant to attend training that will equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to care for the physical and psycho-emotional well-being of their dependents and gives the participants occupational capability for employment or provide a sound platform onto further learning or training to sustain the interest of participants working as a caregiver. Upon completion of this program, students will be well equipped with the necessary competency to take on an exciting service career opportunities related to caregiving.
Who should taket this course?
Family members and relatives of the dependent elderly in their households and participants in the the field will benefit from the course.
What will I learn?
After the course, learners will be able to:
- prepare for wellness treatment and,
- provide wellness treatment for the elderly according to the procedure as set-out in 5 modules in this course.
Course Content
- WM 101: Understand Health, Illness, loss & grief
- WM 102: Demonstrating proper understanding of the fundamentals of approaching the client
- WM 103: Demonstrating proper understanding and applying the principles & techniques of massage with 3 guiding principles CSM (Comfort, Sense & Mindfulness)
- WM 104: Exercise effective communication and documentation in Health Care
- WM 105: Demonstrating self – care for caregiver
How will I be assessed?
Student attendance at all lesson sessions will be monitored and should be maintained to a minimum level of 75% attendance.
