Fire Warden

Course details

The Fire Warden course is a comprehensive review and exercise of the duties of the Fire Warden position as outlined in the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice. The Fire Warden is a key position within the workplace fire life safety system. As preventing emergencies from occurring is more efficient than having to respond to them, the fire warden will make certain their area of responsibility is safe from risk of fire and injuries on a regular basis. They will also ensure that fire prevention systems (fixed or portable) receive basic regular visual inspection to make certain they are in good working conditions and available when emergencies ;
During emergencies, fire wardens are employees on each floor or in each work department who will have the duty to lead people within their area of responsibility to evacuation or to be sheltered-in-place. They will also make certain the evacuation they are leading does not add to the existing problem and people they guide to an evacuation point are accounted for and kept safe.
The Fire Warden course includes the complete Fire Safety Fundamentals and Proper Use of Fire Extinguishers course within the same timeframe.

• Alternative Measures Procedures for Occupant Fire Safety (failure procedures).
• Civil Defence arrival, transition and expectations
• Challenges to the Civil Defence response.
