    Learning Outcomes

    • List the elements of systematic training and appreciate its contribution to organisational effectiveness.
    • Understand learner centred training and list different learning styles.
    • Learn the potential effectiveness of a coaching model.
    • Learn the potential effectiveness of a range of training techniques.
    • Prepare, carry out and evaluate task orientated coaching sessions.
    • Prepare, present and evaluate short presentations for group situations. Underestand and apply feedback techniques

    Programme Outline

    • Day 1: Introductions – objectives, background (theory) – Feedback: positive reinforcement
    • Day 2: Working with Presentation Aids – Overhead projector, Acetates, Flipchart/White Board, Introduction to Powerpopint. Introduction to coaching skills
    • Day 3: Follow on to Coaching skills- preparing one-to-one training session – preparing for on-site coaching session
    • Day 4: Presentation Skills – background, preparing to speak in public, selecting topic for presentation skills session – organise ‘running order' for sessions. Do ‘mock test'
    • Day 5: Conclude preparation – begin presentations as organised – deliver feedback to individuals
    • Day 6: Conclude Presentations sessions – deliver feedback to individuals. Run ‘Test'. Hold Feedback session on 6th day of programme.

    Programme Methodology

    This programme will based on the principles of experiential learning. It will be learner centred in terms of being very interactive and with strong emphasis on practical activities.

    The Positive2Work Skillnet is made up of small, medium & large companies from all sectors of the Irish Economy. The member companies of Positive2Work Skillnet have come together to explore how the intervention of effective strategies, supported by training solutions and people development, can positively impact on the quality of employees working lives and the competitive environment within which network member companies operate. The aim of the project is to create a Positive2Work environment for all employees within the member companies of the Skillnet.
    To date the Skillnet has delivered training that support the areas of:
    • Building Resilience / Stress Management
    • Conflict Management / Building Constructive Relations
    • Change Management / People Management
    While also working directly with member companies to deliver training that both incorporates the Positive2Work objective and meets their individual needs.
    Positive2Work has approved funding until the end of 2013.
    Positive2Work Skillnet provides subsidised training to member companies and offers free training for job-seekers. Members can also influence what courses are provided by the network.
