Course details

This course covers quality systems requirement and how effective applications of quality policies with regards to the textile and fashion industry positively impacts product quality. There will be practical lessons on statistical sampling, with participants engaging in visual garment inspection, completing the inspection report and interpreting a laboratory test report. Participants will have a hand-on attempt at the crocking test and will give an evaluation rating on tested specimens. Students will be engaged in many active discussions.

OBJECTIVES

  • Able to effectively plan daily work, carry out daily work, maintain and improve overall work qualtiy
  • Uses of quality tools such as AQL acceptance sampling plan, Pareto Charts, Crockmeter, Fishbone Diagram and Histogram
  • Learn about common industry quality management systems, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Complete and interpret quality records such as fabric test report, garment test report, fabric inspection checklist, in line QC checklist, end of production QC checklist and QA audit report.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Possess at least 3 GCE “N” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 4 and above

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:

  • 75% attendance rate
  • Assessed to be competent in given competency standard

CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
