  • Design, implement and assess a human resources strategy, evaluating appropriate ethical principles and values.
  • Demonstrate skills of numeracy, literacy, enquiry, selection and employment of relevant sources of information, presentation and interpretation.

Course Content

Managerial Economics

This module examines how an organization can achieve its objectives most efficiently through the application of micro-economic theory and the tools of analysis of decision science, such as statistics and quantitative methods. It demonstrates how economic analysis can be used in formulating business policies.

Understanding Consumer Behaviour

This module provides an understanding of customers' needs and the complexity of the Decision Making Unit and process in both consumer and industrial markets.

Cross Cultural Awareness

As an increasing number of companies have a global reach, managing cultural differences is fast becoming a part of every job. This module explores how culture affects management practice, from organizational structure to strategy and human resource management. Students will have an increased awareness of their own and other people's cultures, and their impact on business and management.

Operation Management

The Operations Management function is about creating and sustaining effective and efficient operations that deliver the products or services in a manner that achieves the objectives of the organization, with respect to cost, quality, flexibility, dependability and speed. Operations management deals with all planning and design activities, from the location of any manufacturing or service company through to the acquisition of raw materials and delivery of complete products/services. Those organizations that dominate their industry sectors have demonstrated that successful operations management requires an enterprise-wide awareness and control of activities, and their interfaces with supporting functions.

Applications of Financial Accounting

This module is designed to build upon the general financial intelligence students will have accumulated in the pre-requisite module. Students will not be expected to demonstrate in depth knowledge of existing accounting standard.

International Business Strategy

This module will focus on the ingredients for formulating and implementing successful strategies in an international setting. It includes analyses of the industries and market, resource and competence-based analysis, international and organisational issues and generic international strategies.

Corporate Governance

This module focuses on the key concepts of corporate governance that every Business student and business professional should know. It will discuss landmark cases of corporate failures and controversies.

Corporate Strategy & Planning

This module introduces the student to strategic management, an integral aspect of knowledge requirements for successful management. Students will be able to identify alternative directions for strategy.

Technology & Organisations

This module introduces participants to the subject of Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) in organizations, taking a broad management perspective. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the current and future role of IS and information in modern organizations, including an appreciation of social, cultural and political aspects that are important to successful adoption of technology.

Business Law

This module introduces Business Law in the local and international setting. Basic commercial and employment laws will be discussed and connected to the business setting.

Entrepreneurship

This module will focus on the enterprising skills of students. It will provide a stimulating and encouraging environment for students to innovate & generate businesses in the future. It will serve as guidance for the potential entrepreneurs.

Management & Social Media

Social media has become a primary tool for communicating with a company's stakeholders. Social media has become so powerful that it can reach not just one consumer at a time but a huge network of a market. It becomes a major communication and marketing tool for businesses, making the business world more globalised and fast-paced.

Entry Requirements

  • Students must be aged 18 years or above
  • English proficiency at IELTS 5.5 level or equivalent or have taken intensive english for 6 months.
  • Completion of Diploma in Business, or equivalent
