Course details
Levels 9 and 10 cover the Upper-Intermediate book of Oxford's New Headway Plus.
Classes meet Sunday through Thursday for 2 hours a day.
Course Goal:
- You will improve your English vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
- This will prepare you to use English in your real life for work, school, travel, relationships, etc.
Most of our students are 16 to 30 years old, though everyone 12 older is welcome to join!
Some of the grammar points covered include:
going further in depth with the tense system and active/passive, using language used in spoken English, narrative tenses, informal uses of "like," advanced questions and negatives, future forms, expressions of quantity, modal and semi-modal verbs, declarative questions, relative clauses, participles, phrases to express habit, intensifying compounds, expressing the third conditional, imagining changing the past/expressing regrets, advanced use of articles, and using determiners.
