Course Aim
This is a preparation course for those who wish to pursue a career in nursing. It also equips learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in the Health Care Support Area.

Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate / Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI/ FETAC Level 4. Mature students with relevant life or work experience. All candidates will be interviewed individually.
Work Experience:
Work Experience is a compulsory part of this course. Garda Vetting is required and will be organised through the college.
Certification:
QQI Level 5 Major Award in Nursing Studies. Certificate in Patient Handling. Certificate in First Aid.
Prospects:
Students who successfully complete the Nursing Studies course may progress to a Nursing Degree course at Third Level through the Higher Education Links Scheme or gain employment in the Health Care sector.
