This nationally accredited and internationally recognised HR Management qualification will give you the skills and the background to become a highly sought after HR Practitioner or HR Manager. This qualification is also ideal if you are a business owner or entrepreneur as it will give you all you need to know about the HR legislative requirements for operating / owning a business in South Africa.

Entrance Criteria

  • Grade 12, old Standard 10 or equivalent, or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification, such as the FETC in HR Management and Practices Support
  • Learners must be at least 16 years of age
  • The ability to read and write in English

Course Structure

  • Module 1 - Personal and Team Effectiveness
  • Module 2 - Legislative Compliance
  • Module 3 - Organisation Transformation
  • Module 4 - Discipline
  • Module 5 - Skills development
  • Module 6 - Facilitation
  • Module 7 - Assessment
  • Module 8 - Productivity Improvement
  • Module 9 - Human Resource Administration

Students will need to do 25 hours of work-place practical activities per each of the 9 modules (Thus, 25 hours x 9). Workplace practical activities will get signed off in a logbook. These practical activities are required for the summative assessments. If students are not currently employed, they must either volunteer or intern. The workplace component is compulsory.

Certification

On successful completion of all subjects in this qualification, plus your final integrated summative assessment (FISA), your details will be uploaded on to the National Learner Records Database by the SABPP, and the National Diploma in Human Resources Management and Practices will be issued to you.

Holders of this qualification will be able to:

  • Provide information for the development of policies.
  • Participate in the development of procedures for processes related to human resources management and practices in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Recruit and induct new employees.
  • Contribute to the development of employees.
  • Supervise a work unit and manage individual and team performance.
  • Contribute to the establishment and improvement of labour and employee relations (including contributing to employee assistance and wellness programmes).
  • Contribute to the establishment, maintenance and utilisation of an information system related to human resources management and practices (including compensation).
  • Adhere to legislative requirements and organisational policies and procedures when co-ordinating and contributing to the management of some of the core processes related to human resources management and practices
  • Promote best human resources management practices in an organisation.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of Health and Safety at the workplace.
  • Identify strengths and areas for improvement in own learning through self-reflection and reflection on organisational human resources management and practices.
