The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) is a professional association which represents 20,000 members, from Chartered Legal Executive lawyers through to paralegals. All CILEx members are independently regulated and their role is to enhance the position and standing of CILEx members and the unique route to legal qualification in the legal profession.

The programme objectives are:

• To provide students with strong foundational knowledge on subjects related to law;
• To equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills for use in the legal industry;
• To prepare graduates of the diploma for higher level studies (i.e., Level 3 Diploma for Legal Secretary).

ASSESSMENT / EXAMINATIONS

Assessment is by way of task-based assignments

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum ten years of school education or equivalent qualification, OR
• Matured candidates with work experience considered on a case to case basis
• At least 16 years old on the date of admission

Language Proficiency

• IELTS 4.5 or equivalent

Graduation Criteria

The learner will need to complete:

• Units 220, 222, 201 and 206 for the Level 2 Diploma.
• Pass an externally set proofreading test as well as a set of assignments.

ATTENDANCE CRITERIA

Overall Attendance should be more than 75% for non-STP holders and more than 90% for STP holders.
