(LCCI) Executive Secretary's Diploma

Course details

A Pearson London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examination qualification or diploma is acknowledged as a guarantee of specific levels of attainment. The high standards of the Pearson LCCIEB’s awards are recognised by students and employers as international passports to employment.

This course is especially suited to those who are working for top level management such as members of the Board of Directors and CEOs, and government bodies such as high-ranking officials and diplomats.

The programme aims to enable the candidates to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in a range of office and administrative skills. Holders of this award should be able to handle complex work situations and to work effectively and independently in different places, systems and cultures.

MODULES

Principles and Practice of Management 

To know the principles, processes and practices of management and the ability to apply this within an organisation. This is a Level 3 module.

Meetings 

To develop knowledge and understanding of preparing for business meetings, conducting business meetings and following up on business meetings.  This is a Level 3 module.

English for Business 

To be able to write mature, fluent, accurate and idiomatic English on behalf of an employer, choosing technical terms, tone, form and content appropriate to the requirements of a particular situation. This is a Level 3 module.

Practical ICT 

Word processing, spreadsheets and presentation graphics will be taught in this module.

Software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be taught, so that documents, data files and effective presentations can be created. This is a Level 3 module.

Legal Environment

To enable learners to develop a broad understanding  of the legal implications of problems and situations commonly faced in business, and the ability to apply legal principles to different situations to reach a solution.  This is a Level 4 module.

MODE OF DELIVERY

Face-to-face lecture and computer lab lessons for appropriate modules.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

• No formal academic qualifications.
• Applicants need to be 16 years of age and above.
• Preferably have an English language proficiency equivalent to GCE ‘N’ Level.

PROGRESSION CRITERIA

There are no pre-requisite units for progression to later units.

GRADUATION CRITERIA

To graduate, students need to pass every unit within 2 calendar years between the first and the last unit.

ATTENDANCE CRITERIA

All students need to attend at least 75% of classes and to be eligible for a Certificate of Attendance.  Student Pass holders are required to maintain an attendance of 90% and above to meet the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority requirement.

ASSESSMENT / EXAMINATION

Examinations conducted by Pearson LCCIEB.

EDUCATIONAL PATHWAY

After completion of the LCCI diploma, students can progress to the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma or SSTC Diploma in Commerce & Liberal Arts and thereafter pursue a degree with advanced standing.
