This is the second course in the Power HA System Mirror curriculum. It is specifically for Power HA System Mirror 7 and later.
Course Outline
- Introduction / review of Power HA concepts
- Creating a cluster using Smart Assists
- Expand an existing cluster
- Add two nodes to an existing two node cluster
- Manually add TSM to an existing active-passive cluster to create an active-active cluster (with the existing HTTP application)
- Using the DB2 Smart Assist, add DB2 to the cluster using node 3 and node 4
- Create a parent child relationship between the HTTP application and the DB2 application
- Create application monitors
- Incorporate a Resource Groups into a WPAR
- Use DLPAR to dynamically modify CPU or memory
- Configure and Use the Power HA System Director Plug-in
- Explore Remote Notification Methods, including setup to send a text message to student phones
Target Audience: This advanced course is for students who are experienced AIX system administrators with TCP/IP networking and AIX Logical Volume Manager (LVM) experience who are responsible for the planning and installation of a Power HA System Mirror 7.1 and later clustes
