First Certificate in English (FCE)

Course details

Aim:

To prepare students for the following examinations:

• First Certificate in English (FCE) examination: Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).

Course Commencement:  Weekly from January to December each yearidy

Modules Available:

• Language Art
• Reading
• Writing
• Listening
• Speaking
• Presentation

Entry requirements:

• For First Certificate in English (FCE): 15 years old & above
• This course is suitable for students with no or little background in English

Mode of Delivery

• Low Teacher-Student Ratio (1:10)
• Classroom Tutorial
• Self-Directed Learning
• Information Technology
• Mode of Assessment

Internal Assessment:

• English evaluation test
• Weekly Lesson Report to monitor the student’s academic progress
• Progress Tests and Written Year-End Examinations
• Student Report will be issued to parent or guardian regularly.

External Assessment:

Students can register for Cambridge English language examinations managed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL)

Course Completion

Student will take Cambridge English Language examinations managed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL)

Note: IDY Academy is adopting the latest syllabuses specified by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL)

Requirement for Course Completion

Students must achieve at least 90% attendance and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reasons. 

Type of Qualification

Cambridge English Language certification will be issued by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), after successful completion of the Cambridge English Language Examinations.

A Letter of Completion will be awarded by IDY Academy for students who fulfil the 90% attendance requirement for completion of course.
