As a technological society, we are entering a new phase of the Internet, which is called the Internet of Everything (IoE). The benefit of the IoE is derived from the connectedness created as “everything” comes online. The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to prepare, build and install a range of connected devices.

Course Requirements

Leaving Cert/Leaving Cert Applied or its equivalent

For mature students, experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications

Suitability for this course will be assessed at interview

Career Opportunities

IoE is creating demand for a new kind of IT specialist, individuals with the skillsets to maintain and create new products and processes. A workforce is needed that specializes in the convergence of electronics and computer engineering.

Progression

On successful completion of this course students can progress to Computer Systems & Networks FETAC Level 6 available in the College where they will expand their knowledge in the area of the Internet of Everything, network infrastructures and systems.

Students can also progress to further studies in IT Colleges through the Higher Education Links Scheme as outlined in this brochure.
