Course details

In this course, you will learn key IT security technologies, use state-of-the-art IT security systems, and apply strategies and best practices to protect digital assets in an organisation.

You will also learn to direct, manage, and operate the security operation centres and be directly involved in tracking and fighting cybercrime.

We provide interesting modules which give students a hands-on experience in specialties such as ethical hacking, intrusion detection and prevention, and cloud infrastructure.

Course Outcomes

• Effectively plan, configure and optimise firewalls, VPN and intrusion detection systems
• Conduct network and system penetration testing, and analyse security logs
• Provide real-time monitoring of IT security incidents and analyse suspicious activities; perform vulnerability testing and assessment on software applications, and patch vulnerable applications accordingly
• Assist in IT auditing procedures, comply with security policies, identify security weaknesses, provide mitigation actions and prepare management reports
