The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to develop and execute digital marketing strategies and activities, under supervision, using a range of e-tools within a range of digital marketing and social media contexts.

  • anyone working with websites who wishes to acquire up-to-date skills in online marketing, e.g. web developers, content managers, webmasters
  • anyone working in a marketing role who wishes to improve their digital marketing skills.

The specific learning outcomes are as follows:

  • Identify digital marketing strategies
  • Outline the stages of analysis, development, implementation and control of digital media campaigns
  • Identify e-tools to include social media marketing, blogs, rich media, email marketing, search engine optimization SEO, online advertising and their application to digital marketing campaigns.
  • Develop customized digital marketing campaigns to include the use of e-tools.
  • Monitor digital marketing campaigns and use e-tools to include web analytics, social media monitoring and social bookmarking to measure their effectiveness.

Entry Requirements

  • Level 5 Certificate in, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification and/or relevant life and work experience
