    The course provides informal caregivers with a grant to attend training that will equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to care for the physical and psycho-emotional well-being of their dependents and gives the participants occupational capability for employment or provide a sound platform onto further learning or training to sustain the interest of participants working as a caregiver. Upon completion of this program, students will be well equipped with the necessary competency to take on an exciting service career opportunities related to caregiving.

    Who should taket this course?

    Family members and relatives of the dependent elderly in their households and participants in the the field will benefit from the course.

    What will I learn?

    After successful completion of the course, the learners will be able to:

    1. prepare proper diet for the elderly and,
    2. provide the elderly with healthy eating advice in accordance with the procedure as set-out in 4 modules of this course.

    Course Content

    DN 101: Understand and explain Nutritional Guidelines for the Elderly

    DN 102: Demonstrating proper understanding of Elderly eating patterns

    DN 103: Understanding common health issues faced by the elderly

    DN 104: Demonstrating proper understanding and applying the principles of meals planning for the elderly

    How will I be assessed?

    Student attendance at all lesson sessions will be monitored and should be maintained to a minimum level of 75% attendance.
