The Communication Course Level 2 serves as an enhancement for those who have completed Communication Course Level 1 or those with survival English, yet still willing to improve their English for more employability, social-cultural awareness and better interpersonal relationship. The courses is structured to help learners become more confident, competent and proficient users of English while acknowledging the importance of solid communication skills in improvement of career perspectives and success in today’s very dynamic workplace..

Non-native speakers of English who are working in service industries such as retail, hospitality and tourism will benefit from the course.
What will I learn?
- Converse with interlocutors of different backgrounds with the least difficulty
- Articulate difficult and long English words well
- Manoeuvre the flow of speech and writing to convey the meaning effectively
- Minimize misunderstanding and miscommunication in work/social life, applying strategies for effective communication such as active listening, giving feedback, adopting friendly tone, showing welcoming facial expressions and gestures
- Paraphrase what they hear and read to clarify the meaning
- Ask open-ended questions for additional details and impressions
- Extend any communication topic to certain extent and give appropriate responses even if the topics are strange to them
- Focus on problems/situations, their emotions about the issue and reasons for the concern rather than blames or criticism to communicate smoothly
- Write e-mails, notes and meeting minutes cohesively
- Communicate clearly using Standard English in a Global/International environment
How will I be assessed?
Despite the fact that there is no formal examination for the course, elements of formative assessment and supportive feedback will be incorporated throughout the course through individual works, pair works, group works and class activities. Students' portfolios are to be kept for the assessment purpose. The decision if a learner is entitled to receive the completion of Communication Course Level 1 Certificate is made based on his/her portfolio.
Entry Requirements
Applicants need to have the certificate of completion of Communication course Level 1 conferred by CSM Academy International or equivalent.
If there is no proof of previous certificate in Elementary Level of English, applicants need to sit for the placement test designed by CSM Academy.
