CERA is one of the most comprehensive and rigorous enterprise risk management qualifications recognized globally. It aims to address the urgent need for highly-qualified risk management professionals worldwide, especially in the financial sector.CERA is designed to equip actuaries to fulfil roles such as chief risk officer in fields such as banking; insurance; reinsurance; consulting; energy; infrastructure; transport; manufacturing; technology; media; and heathcare.Importantly for complex financial institutions it covers inpidual risk categories and how they interact. The qualification requires understanding of how to measure, model and manage risks and how economic capital can be best applied. It is essential for practitioners seeking to be engaged in risk modelling under the Solvency II or Basel II regulatory regimes.
A Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) of the Society of Actuaries has demonstrated knowledge in the identification, measurement and management of risk within risk–bearing enterprises. The CERA has also completed a professionalism course covering the professional code of conduct and the importance of adherence to recognized standards of practice. CERAs who have the Application for Admission as an Associate approved by the SOA Board of Directors will be granted membership as an Associate.
The GULF INSURANCE INSTITUTE is conducting a tuition programme for graduates to obtain this top qualification. The programme covers tuition for the four preliminary examinations of the qualification and the ERM examination. The tuition programme is structured into 20 seminars of duration each over covering a total of of in-class interaction. The seminars will be scheduled approximately six weeks apart.Each seminar will be per day and will be held at GII Centre, Seef, Bahrain. Each event will cover a major learning objective or topic within the syllabus. The programme will be delivered and moderated by GII full time lecturer supplemented with visiting lecturers with particular specializations where required.
