Certificate in English Level 2 (Elementary Level)

Course details

This course is designed for both adults and school-aged students with basic knowledge of the use of English. Through intensive listening, speaking, reading and writing skills development, students can apply English according to the situation. If students’ test results are satisfactory, they will be awarded a Rainforest Business College Certificate in English Level 2. It prepares students to progress to Certification in English Level 3.

Entry requirement

For students with above 6 year’s old who have completed Rainforest Business College English Level1. Students will be given a placement test and will be placed into the appropriate level according to the results.

Outcome

At this level, learners are expected to have developed many of the basic linguistic ‘ survival skills’ needed to interact socially or at work in an English speaking environment. The skills gained are of value in a number of work related and social situations.

Learners will also be able to read and follow short written signs, notices and posters, catalogues, directions, instructions, messages and very short, simple documents

Assessment

Students will take the examination on a half-yearly basis. Our examination offers a communicative approach to test students in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills at this level. Assessment for this programme will be a combination of half an hour oral examination and a 2 hours writing examination in June and December each year.
