Course details

Language is the foundation for all communications.The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program helps in the learning and proficiency of the English Language. A good knowledge of English supported by the correct English Language qualification, can offer students and advantage in life, leading to interesting study, work and life opportunities at home and aboard. The students are given the opportunity to study listening , speaking , reading and writing leading to vocabulary development and grammer. This course provides the students the opportunity to discuss various academic, cultural and social topics with others in similar situations, to ask questions and learn. This course provides the golden opportunity to learn to communicate in the English , the global language.

Course Contenta:

The main aim of this course is to develop and practise the language and skills that students’ need to communicate and be part of a global world.

Listening

This module focuses on understanding, comprehending and responding to dialogues, learning the right pronunciation through study of phonics and be able to carry out instructions.

Reading:

Students on completion of this module will be able to read with correct pronunciation through the study of phonics, read a variety of texts and demonstrate an understanding of the structure of English.

Writing:

Students’ learn the use of grammar, vocabulary, give information and instructions and be able to produce variations in sentence structure.

Speaking:

The module aims to prepare students to face the world and develop communication skills which will help them in their everyday activities. They learn English speaking skills through class activities, role plays, discussion, interacting with fellow students, describing objects and having structured conversations in class

Entry Requirements

• Minimum Age: 15 years old
• Academic Level: Sec 2 or equivilant
• Language Proficiency: N/A

Assessment & Awards

• Students who wish to take the ESOL test may register with British Council at their own accord.
• There will be 5 monthly test and 1 final examination at the end of the course.
• Students who have successfully completed and passed the examination will be awarded with Certificate of Attendance from Bradford-Rex College of Hospitality and Management
