Course Objectives:

Course Content:
- Managers'/supervisors' responsibilities and the impact of the law
- Assessing risks - hazard identification, the concept of "risk", 5- step guide to risk assessment
- Controlling risks - hierarchy of risk controls, the concept of "reasonable practicability", cost-effectiveness in controlling risks. Costs of failure.
- Understanding the hazards
- Investigating incidents - accidents, near-misses, and dangerous occurrences. Developing an investigation format, the importance of evidence. Reporting on findings.
- Measuring performance- active and reactive monitoring within a management system
- Protecting our environment
