Course Overview

This specialist workshop will be of value to individuals who are working in communications who are required to write speeches for either themselves, their colleagues and bosses or their clients.  Speech-writing typically falls to relatively senior individuals within organisations or agencies because it requires a fairly high standard of writing and trust.  

For that reason this workshop is most suited to individuals who are at or above PR Manager, Account Manager or Marketing Manager level.  

This workshop will cover the following:

• What constitutes a good speech?
• Structure and form - how to structure a speech
• Body language
• How to use language and variety to engage your audience and keep them
• The importance of word-choice and being on-message (how to avoid a PR disaster!)
• Style, pace, volume
• Tips  

This workshop will be interactive and participants should bring a laptop and be prepared to engage with the rest of the group.  Some participants will have an opportunity to deliver a speech towards the end of the workshop.  All participants should be prepared to be brave and have a go!  

All participants will receive a workbook for use during the session and a fact sheet for future reference.
