Whenever a worker leaves the ground, the risk of an accident occurring increases dramatically. With more than 10,000 scaffold related injuries reported each year, STC has mandated that workers be trained on how to safely erect and use these work platforms. This course attempts to provide a general overview of the safety measures that are required when working on a scaffold. The course begins with an introduction into the various types of scaffolds, and goes onto to outline MOL Safety requirements and safety measure that can be taken to ensure that employees working on scaffolds are at little risk of injury or death.

Course Objective:

This course intent is to provide the trainee with the standard requirements of scaffolding during erection and dismantling, and general maintenance of scaffolding materials.

• Scaffolding safety law
• Identify types and parts of scaffolds and to be aware of the importance of each part.
• Scaffolds lacking components
• Flat surface of scaffolding Foundation and base supports
• Scaffold Foundation and Support
• Safe scaffolding erection
• Standard of scaffolding boarding require
• Standard of scaffolding guards,
• Understand scaffolding tag out cards and warning labels
• Safe way of using a safety belt, other PPE and how to use it on scaffolds.
• Hazards he may encounter in case of noncompliance with safety standard and requirements
