The ATI syllabus has been carefully designed to equip graduate with an array of transferable business skills, as well as technical knowledge of finance and accountancy practice. Ultimately, the qualification increases employment opportunities for a broad range of accounting and finance roles and will enable successful students to progress to senior financial management at a later stage of a career.

Accounting Technicians enjoy excellent career prospects. They can work in a wide variety of finance roles for many types of organisations, including manufacturing companies, local and central government, the health service, banks and insurance companies and private accountancy firms. Self-employment is also a possibility for qualified technicians.

In addition, many who qualify as Accounting Technicians go on to continue their studies, using the qualification as a stepping stone to eventually becoming professional accountants with one of the other bodies.

Assessments

The following is the timetable of events for registration and examinations. Examinations are external events and are held by ATI at an exam centre within walking distance of Infinity.

Entry Requirements

• Students must be 18 years or over
• 3 GCSEs/IGCSEs at Grade ‘C’ or above (including English Language) plus
• 2 A Levels or AVCEs at Grade ‘C’ or above or 4 AS Levels at Grade ‘C’ or above
• or the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of 24 points
• or the European Baccalaureate (EB) with a minimum of 60 points
• or a comparable qualification from another Educational System
• Pass grades to include English and either Maths or Accountancy
• A medium Intermediate level of English IELTS 5 or equivalent

Course Content (Modules)

The Certificate for Accounting Technicians (First Year) offers a progression pathway into the Diploma for Accounting Technicians and can be completed on a full-time basis. A list of First Year subjects is shown below and once you successfully complete these, you will receive the Certificate for Accounting Technicians award.
