Course Overview

What is Project Management Diploma?

This course delivers a solid grasp of the key challenges that face professionals accountable for group outcomes in project organisations. It describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to integrate and balance the overall project management functions of scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement. The training course builds on the nine project management knowledge areas of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) Guide. The design of this interactive training course allows you to study the most up-to-date theories and practices in the field of project management, and more importantly at the level of Project Manager where responsibility for the entire project outcome and team interaction is found. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of a team.

Course Objectives

• Define the scope of a project - one of the most challenging project management tasks
• Write effective project plans to meet the delivery requirements of corporate/business expectations
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively use various tools to make cost and schedule decisions
• Use mechanisms linked with the plan for the day-to-day control of projects to meet project objectives
• Provide quality deliverables, with the ability to meet reporting requirements on demand
• Select appropriate tools to support monitoring and control mechanisms
• Assign agreed responsibilities to get the best out of core and broader team capabilities

• To qualification

Extensive vocational experience and practising project managers in the leadership of projects and teams but without a formal project management qualification
BSB41507 Certificate IV in Project Management or other relevant qualification/s

• Post qualification

Entry into Advanced Diploma of Project Management (BSB60707) or other BSB07 Diploma qualification

Delivery Strategy

There are two training course deliveries each consisting of a three-day face-to-face attendance over two months. The delivery of the two training courses covers the theory of the nine project management knowledge areas of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) Guide.
The delivery is presented through an intensive and interactive training environment that allows for fun and learning combined. Students will interact with each other and have the opportunity to apply their theory and learning to a training course case study, learning activities and exercises.
