Unit 1 - Fundamentals of Accounting Concepts [6 hours]

  • Branches of accounting
  • Financial, cost, management, responsibility, social, human resources, inflation

Unit 2 - The Accounting Process [6 hours]

  • Recording, classification, reporting, error rectification

Unit 3 - Books of Original Entry [6 hours]

  • Purchase, returns, sales, sales returns, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash/bank book

Unit 4 - Financial Statements [6 hours]

  • Trading, profit & loss account, balance sheet, adjustments

Unit 5 - Financial Analysis Planning & Control [6 hours]

  • Vertical, horizontal analysis, comparative, common size, trend percentages.
  • Capital investment budgeting
  • Cost volume profit analy(CVP)

Unit 6 - Analyzing the Income Statement [6 hours]

  • Objectives, change factors – quantity, cost, price.

Unit 7 - Ratios Analysis [6 hours]

  • Liquidity, turnover, profitability ratios analysis

Unit 8 - Cash Flow Management [6 hours] 

  • Cash flow statement, funds flow statements

Unit 9 - Value Added Statements [6 hours]

  • Concept, objectives, statements, control ratios

Unit 10 - Quality Cost Management [6 hours]

  • Quality management, quality costs, reports, control ratios

Unit 11 - Bank Reconciliation Statements [6 hours]

  • Comparison of cash book with bank statements, preparation of.bank reconciliation statements

ASSESSMENT & CERTIFICATION

The diploma is assessed through continuous assessment. A certificate is awarded on successful completion of the course with an overall mark of 50% or over with above 80% attendance record.
