This course is designed to develop the language ability of foreign students who want to pursue higher education in the English medium of instruction. Students will be taught the following language skills: writing, reading, listening and speaking.
Mode of Delivery
This course is wholly delivered in Singapore. Students will have access to local lecturers and resources provided by Nanyang Institute of Management.
There will be a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and presentations. Students may also be given additional work to complete outside of scheduled classes. Resources and materials provided for students will include lecture notes and references for further reading in books, publication, articles and websites.
Entry Requirements
- 14 years old at the time of application
- Open Entry
- At least 14 years of age at the time of application
- IELTS 1.0 or equivalent
Assessment & Awards
Assessment for modules comprises coursework, tutorials, tests and written examinations. The coursework may include tests, presentation, practical assignments, research projects and/or tutorial participation.
Upon passing the Certificate in General English, a student will be awarded the Nanyang Institute of Management Certificate in General English.
