The introductory units in the course discuss the three energy-yielding macronutrients - carbohydrates, proteins and lipids in detail and explain how these macronutrients help body to maintain numerous bodily functions such as growth and providing energy to carry out activities. Moving on the course discusses how various micronutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin E and selenium help prevent cell damage. Besides providing us an overview of the micronutrients the course also discusses the effects of their deficiency on our health.
The Dietetics & Nutrition Course ( Level 4 ) covers everything from a basic introduction to the concept of nutrition right through to digestion, detoxification, women's health, the immune system and how diet and nutrition are linked with human disease. On this course you will study two comprehensive units on weight control management and weight loss management. The key differences between healthy and unhealthy weight loss are also introduced and discussed. will help you learn what constitutes a balanced diet according to established nutritional science and equips you with the skills and knowledge to advise others. You will understand the dietary needs for different people and will become confident in giving advice.
