Course details
This unit teaches the skills required when recording location sound. This includes determining the audio equipment required based on the location and type of recording; testing and troubleshooting audio equipment; placing and setting up audio equipment in preparation for a recording session; monitoring the audio output during recording and maintaining documentation of the recordings made.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Determine the audio equipment needed based on the requirements of the shoot
- Test and troubleshoot all audio equipment and cables to maintain functionality
- Position microphones to enable the best possible audio recording
- Set up audio equipment for a shoot to facilitate recording
- Monitor the audio levels during the shoot to maintain the appropriate recording levels
- Maintain a sound log of the shoot to provide documentation of all sound recordings
