Course details
On completion of this unit, learner will have the knowledge and application skills in providing manicure & pedicure and be able to apply them at the workplace.
This unit is within the competency category of Beauty Therapy and is one of the modules leading to the CET certificates.
COURSE OUTLINES
- Carry out pre-treatment activities-personal grooming / hygiene, infection & preventive care;
- Consult with client-basic knowledge of Manicure & Pedicure eg. A&P of skin and nail, structure of nail, function & growth of nail; types of contraindications - common skin and nail condition
- Perform Manicure & Pedicure - products, equipment & tools used in manicure & pedicure; manicure & pedicure techniques and procedures; importance and purpose of hand & foot massage; client's comfort & modesty; client feedback
- Carry out post-treatment activities - importance of giving after care advice
- Five competency elements of providing Manicure & Pedicure
Requirement
PSLE, ESS WPLN L3 English/Chinese or equivalent°
Award Criteria
Trainees must pass the Final Assessment as Competent.
