his course covers the major aspects of quality in the textile and fashion industry. Participants will learn the principles of quality management, understand and interpret the various types of quality audit reports and how quality policies can impact the operational performance of an organisation. The areas of coverage include statistical sampling, defects classification, samples evaluation and report writing. Raw materials, product testing and safety and colour evaluation will also be introduced. Participants will also have the opportunity to be engaged in discussion in common quality issues and measurement deviations faced by the industry.
OBJECTIVES
- Identify inspection required to be carried out in accordance with organisational quality procedures.
- Report any non-conformity in accordance with organisational quality procedures.
- Interpret raw material and apparel test reports according to Industry Standards / Technical Manuals.
- Evaluate apparel factories and fabric mills according to Industry Standards / Technical Manuals.
- Perform fit evaluation according to Industry Standards / Technical Manuals.
- Monitor to sustain quality of products from suppliers and in-house process in accordance with organisational quality standards.
- Make decisions on disposition of non-conformities according to organisational policies and procedures.
- Suggest action plan to improve work processes in accordance with organisational procedures.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Possess at least 3 GCE “O” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
