WSQ Interpret Textile Product Knowledge and Provide Advice on Fabric Care for Textile and Fas

Course details

This course provides an overview of fibre properties, fabric identification and care for fabric. It is highly recommended for learners who are interested to know more about fabrics and how to care for them. Participants will experience active learning through fabric identification and stain removal.

This unit is delivered through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities.

OBJECTIVES

• Learn how to interpret various types of fabric qualities.
• Learn how to interpret care symbols.
• Learn how to advise care for garment with reference to care label instructions.
• Learn how to apply stain removal techniques for common stains.
• Learn how to check to ensure stain is removed.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Possess at least 3 GCE “N” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 4 and above.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:

• 75% attendance rate
• Assessed to be competent in given competency standard

CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
