Course details
Modern manufacturing consumes a large amount of resources, generates waste, and pollutes the natural environment. Moreover, some of the raw materials and energy resources consumed are non-renewable. The toxic polution released into the atmosphere, resulted in adverse environmental problems such as acid rain, poisoning of biosphere, global warming, climatic change, and raise a concern about depleted natural resources.
In Singapore, as companies embark on their Corporate and Social Responsibilities (CSR), implementing sustainable manufacturing has become a natural progression. There have also been more green initiatives urged for the companies, to move towards acclaiming Green Labeling and Environmental Achievement Awards.
This is one of the Specialisation Electives that leads to the award of WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) in Generic Manufacturing Skills (Manufacturing Excellence).
