WSQ Grade Patterns

Course details

This training provides occupational knowledge and skills of the various techniques and concepts in grading pattern using CAD pattern grading software which is widely used in the fashion industry. Participants will be able to:

• Receive, retrieve and send digital patterns blocks and information electronically
• Grade patterns blocks using CAD grading system
• Maintain records of information
• Manage pattern database or library

This unit is delivered through lectures, demonstration and hands-on activities.

OBJECTIVES

• Identify and retrieve digital pattern information electronically with CAD pattern grading software.
• Verify production base-size patterns for correct information, balance points and pattern fit.
• Grade pattern pieces using CAD pattern grading applications based on grade plan and or approved size specs.
• Organise and maintain accurate records of data, pattern library and other work-related information.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Possess at least 3 GCE "O" level credit including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:

• 75% attendance rate
• Assessed to be competent in given competency standard

CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
