Course details
This training provides knowledge pertaining to the sequence and inter-relation of each process of the life cycle of a product from design concept to retail floor. Participants will be equipped with production tracking tools to follow up from design to delivery, coordinate and monitor production, and troubleshoot and solve problems to ensure on-time delivery.
This unit is delivered through hands-on activities, discussions and lectures.
OBJECTIVES
- Gain an overview of the global apparel industry structure.
- Comprehend and apply understanding of the various processes from design concept to finished goods.
- Understand how each event affects another.
- Know common industry lead-times for each process.
- Understand critical path management concept and identify critical processes.
- Use production tracking tools to coordinate production.
- Learn how to troubleshoot based on plan vs. actual dates, and how to handle common problems such as production delay, rejected colour dips, continuous rejected approval samples, etc.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Possess at least 3 GCE “O” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 5 and above.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:
- 75% attendance rate
- Assessed to be competent in given competency standard
CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE
Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
